How to actually remember what you study
Rereading feels productive and does almost nothing. Here is what the evidence says works instead.

AI Researcher & Lead Instructor
Most students revise by rereading. It feels good — the material looks familiar, so it feels learned. That feeling is the problem.
Retrieval beats review
Closing the book and trying to write down what you remember is uncomfortable and far more effective. The struggle is the mechanism, not a sign that it is not working.
Space it out
Three thirty-minute sessions across a week beat one ninety-minute session. Your brain consolidates between sessions, not during them.
Explain it to someone
If you cannot explain a topic in plain language, you do not understand it yet. Use the AI tutor as a patient listener — ask it to challenge your explanation.
