Safeguarding

Your child will be taught by adults they meet through a screen. That places a duty on us, and you are entitled to know exactly how we discharge it. This is what we do.

Who is in the room

  • Every live lesson is hosted by a named member of staff whose identity has been checked before they teach.
  • No adult meets a student one-to-one without a second member of staff present or the session being recorded.
  • Teachers contact students through the platform. Personal phone numbers and private social accounts are not used.

What is recorded

  • Live lessons are recorded so students can rewatch them and so there is a record if a concern is raised.
  • Recordings are available to the students in that class, their parents, and staff. They are not published.
  • Students are told before recording starts. Nothing is recorded secretly.

Reporting a concern

  • Any student, parent or member of staff can raise a concern, and it goes to the designated safeguarding lead the same day.
  • A student can report something without their parent being told first if telling them would put the student at risk.
  • We keep a written record of every concern, what was done, and by whom.

Behaviour between students

  • Chat during lessons is moderated, and messages are retained.
  • Bullying, harassment and sharing another student's work or images are treated as serious, not as high spirits.
  • Sanctions go up to removal from the platform, and we tell the parents of everybody involved.

Data about children

  • We collect the minimum needed to teach and to report on progress.
  • We do not sell data, and we do not use student work to train anybody's AI models.
  • Parents can ask to see everything held about their child and can ask for it to be deleted when they leave.

Raising something with us
